In Klaksvík, the second largest city of the Faroe Islands and an important centre of the fishing industry at the same time, the international maritime exhibition, the Atlantic Fair, takes place. In the biennial cycle, lots of exhibitors present the latest developments in fishing equipment, fish processing, storage and transport, ship-building, boat equipment, security systems and many more. Beyond the presentation of goods, technologies and services, the fair plays a major role as regards creation of contact networks and the exchange of knowledge. It is aimed at supporting the fishing industry as an important economic factor on the Faroe Islands. The Faroe Islands can be reached daily by direct flights from Copenhagen and once a week by ferry from Hirtshals in Denmark.
The Atlantic Fair will take place on 3 days from Tuesday, 28. May to Thursday, 30. May 2024 in Klaksvík.
