The Hanover Exhibition Grounds, centrally located in the capital of Lower Saxony, opened its doors in 1947 and has since developed into a significant venue in Germany. Hanover itself has a rich history dating back to the Middle Ages. Strategically located at the confluence of the rivers Leine and Ihme, the city was historically an important place for the kings and emperors of the Holy Roman Empire and later for the kings of Hanover. Today, it is known not only for its trade fairs but also for attractions such as the impressive New Town Hall and the Herrenhausen Gardens, and as an important transport hub. The exhibition site spans over a million square meters, offering 24 halls and pavilions as well as a generous outdoor area. It is one of the largest exhibition grounds in the world. Architecturally, it impresses particularly with its futuristic Expo roof construction and the ultra-modern TUI Arena, which can be used for various events. Numerous renowned events take place here. The annual HANNOVER FAIR, considered the world's most important industrial fair, stands out. Other major events, such as the CeBIT, one of the largest IT fairs globally, as well as various concerts, conferences, and cultural events, enrich the diverse offerings of the exhibition grounds.
