The ATSA Independent Living Expo in Melbourne is Australia's leading trade fair for assistive technologies and independent living. Held annually, it brings together people with disabilities, seniors, caregivers, therapists, and healthcare professionals. Organized by Assistive Technology Suppliers Australia (ATSA), the expo offers a unique, highly specialized platform that goes far beyond a typical product exhibition — it informs, connects, and inspires.
Since its founding in 2000, ATSA has positioned itself as a key interface between manufacturers, government bodies, medical professionals, and the public. With this mission, the ATSA Independent Living Expo has grown into one of the most comprehensive events for assistive technologies in Australia. In addition to Melbourne, the expo is also held in Adelaide, Brisbane, Perth, Canberra, and Sydney, attracting thousands of visitors each year — including end users, family members, and decision-makers from the care and health sectors.
The expo focuses on practical solutions that make everyday life easier and promote genuine inclusion. More than 100 exhibitors showcase innovative products and services — from modern mobility aids like wheelchairs and scooters to communication and care technologies, modified vehicles, and home adaptations that support barrier-free living. New approaches in therapy, rehabilitation, education, recreation, and workplace integration are also presented. The exhibition covers the full spectrum of assistive technologies that can enhance both daily living and long-term opportunities for people with disabilities.
A particular highlight is the free seminar program, where renowned experts present the latest developments, scientific insights, and hands-on advice — offering valuable knowledge for professionals and private visitors alike. Access is intentionally low-threshold: admission is free for both industry professionals and end users. The onsite infrastructure — including accessible entrances, catering options, and networking areas — is fully designed with inclusion and comfort in mind.
The venue for the Melbourne expo is the Melbourne Showgrounds — a modern, easily accessible event center that offers ideal conditions for showcasing technical innovations and fostering meaningful exchange, thanks to its spacious layout and barrier-free facilities.
The ATSA Independent Living Expo will take place on 2 days from Tuesday, 20. May to Wednesday, 21. May 2025 in Melbourne.
