ABI Zukunft is a specialised careers and higher-education fair focused on life after the Abitur. It is aimed specifically at secondary school students in their upper years—particularly those approaching their final exams—as well as their parents and teachers. The fair’s purpose is to provide clear guidance and support well-informed decision-making at a stage of life characterised by both a wide range of opportunities and considerable uncertainty.
In Berlin, ABI Zukunft takes place annually at the Ludwig Erhard Haus in Charlottenburg. Centrally located and easily accessible, the venue offers modern facilities ideally suited to one-to-one guidance sessions, presentations and direct personal exchange. Firmly established in Berlin’s education and careers calendar, the fair also reflects the capital’s diversity as a centre for higher education, industry and vocational training.
ABI Zukunft is organised by JF Messekonzept GmbH & Co. KG, a nationwide organiser specialising in education and careers fairs. The ABI Zukunft series is held in several German cities and is designed to support young people with practical, impartial and well-grounded guidance as they plan their educational and professional pathways. Berlin plays a particularly important role in the series due to its high concentration of universities, businesses, public institutions and international organisations.
The fair covers a broad spectrum of education and career options. Its core focus is on degree programmes at universities and universities of applied sciences, dual study programmes, and both school-based and company-based vocational training. In addition, career paths in the public sector and private industry are presented. The programme is complemented by information on voluntary services such as the FSJ and BFD, opportunities to go abroad, language programmes and international education routes. Rather than consumer products, the fair showcases concrete opportunities including courses of study, apprenticeships, advisory services, application support and orientation services that are directly relevant to the next stage of life.
A key feature of ABI Zukunft is its personal guidance sessions alongside a comprehensive programme of talks. Visitors receive tailored information and clear answers to questions relating to subject choice, application procedures, entry requirements and long-term career prospects.
Exhibitors represent a wide range of sectors, including education and research, industry and skilled trades, services, public administration, healthcare, IT, business, as well as international education and exchange organisations. The audience is equally diverse: the fair is primarily attended by upper-secondary students, accompanied by parents, teachers and careers advisers seeking a realistic overview of education and career options.
ABI Zukunft Berlin is part of a nationwide series of fairs held in cities such as Frankfurt, Hanover, Münster and Cologne. While following a consistent national framework, the concept is adapted to regional contexts. With its central location, excellent public transport connections and proximity to key education and business hubs, the Ludwig Erhard Haus provides an ideal setting for the event and ensures a convenient, well-organised visit—an important advantage for anyone looking to plan their future after school with clarity and confidence.
The Abi Zukunft will take place on Saturday, 21. March 2026 in Berlin.
