Aktiv in Lautern Kaiserslautern

Since its inception in 2017, the “Aktiv in Lautern” fair has become a well-established event in the city of Kaiserslautern’s calendar. Every two years, the historic Fruchthalle in the heart of the city transforms into a vibrant meeting place for people who view retirement as an active and fulfilling stage of life.

The fair is organized by the Seniors’ Network Kaiserslautern (SeNeKL) e.V., which is committed to fostering public dialogue on aging and making practical, relevant offerings for the 55-plus generation visible. The event creates a space for meaningful exchange and information, tailored to the interests and needs of this demographic.

Aktiv in Lautern covers a wide range of topics that contribute to a fulfilling life after 55. The focus includes age-appropriate living, health and wellness, mobility, safety, leisure, digital media, and lifelong learning. In addition to products, visitors can explore services and counseling offerings specifically related to life in Kaiserslautern and the surrounding Palatinate region. These range from care consultations and outpatient palliative services to innovative housing models and mobility solutions.

A distinctive feature of the fair is its program of interactive talks and panel discussions. Topics such as artificial intelligence in everyday life, coping with stress and anxiety, gut health, Alzheimer’s disease, and legal matters like advance directives offer both practical knowledge and tangible support. Additional impulses on healthy aging—such as microcirculation or intimacy in later life—highlight the fair’s holistic approach.

The event is complemented by a diverse supporting program. Music, readings, and artistic performances from the region create a lively atmosphere and celebrate the joy of life. Exhibitors represent a wide array of sectors, including health, care, technology, tourism, nutrition, and education. As a result, the fair attracts not only older adults themselves, but also their children, caregiving relatives, and professionals from social and healthcare institutions.

The Fruchthalle, a striking architectural landmark in a central location, provides the ideal setting for this unique event. With excellent public transport connections, the fair is easily accessible—whether on foot, by bus or train, or by car—and fully barrier-free. Aktiv in Lautern invites all visitors to enjoy a day filled with inspiration, exchange, and new perspectives.

On the whole the organisers welcomed on the 2 days of the fair, from 16. September to 17. September 2022, about 70 exhibitors and 3000 visitors on the Aktiv in Lautern in Kaiserslautern.

The Aktiv in Lautern takes place biennially, and therefore for the 5th time previsibly in September 2027 in Kaiserslautern.
