The Aqua Energy Expo Middle East and Africa is an international trade exhibition dedicated to water treatment, wastewater management, desalination technologies and innovative renewable energy solutions. The event brings together manufacturers, technology providers, engineering consultancies, government authorities, utilities, investors and industry professionals to address current challenges and explore forward-looking solutions for the sustainable use of water and energy resources.
The exhibition is held at the prestigious Cairo International Convention Center (CICC) in Cairo, one of North Africa’s leading exhibition and conference venues. It is organised by Water Technology Experts Company, a specialist event organiser focused on water and environmental technologies. The company is committed to promoting innovation, knowledge exchange and international business partnerships across the water sector.
At the heart of the exhibition are advanced water treatment and desalination technologies, sustainable solutions for municipal and industrial wastewater treatment, and the integration of water and energy systems. Exhibits include primary, secondary and tertiary water treatment systems; membrane technologies such as reverse osmosis, ultrafiltration, nanofiltration and membrane bioreactors; and advanced oxidation processes based on ozone, UV/H₂O₂ and Fenton technologies. Particular emphasis is placed on modern desalination solutions, including thermal technologies such as MSF and MED plants, containerised RO systems, solar-powered desalination units and innovative energy recovery systems.
The exhibition also showcases technologies for municipal and industrial wastewater treatment, water recycling and water reuse. Visitors can explore sequencing batch reactors, anaerobic digestion systems with biogas recovery, decentralised wastewater treatment solutions, and advanced sludge treatment and energy recovery technologies. These are complemented by solutions for real-time water quality monitoring, intelligent sensing technologies, SCADA systems, IoT applications, AI-powered predictive maintenance solutions and digital platforms for water resource management.
Another key exhibition segment covers pumps, valves, piping systems, storage solutions and technical components for water and wastewater infrastructure. Suppliers of treatment chemicals and process additives also present advanced solutions for coagulation, flocculation, disinfection and corrosion control. Sustainable and decentralised approaches, including constructed wetlands, biofiltration systems, mobile water treatment units and solar-powered supply systems, are becoming increasingly important and rank among the event’s most sought-after innovations.
The exhibition is of particular significance to Egypt and the wider region. As one of the most water-scarce countries in the world, Egypt is investing heavily in water treatment, water reuse and desalination. At the same time, Cairo serves as a major economic and logistics hub linking Africa, the Middle East and the Mediterranean region. The Aqua Energy Expo Middle East and Africa therefore provides an ideal platform for connecting international technologies and investment opportunities with the region’s infrastructure development projects.
Highlights of the event include specialist conferences, expert forums, technical presentations and networking events, where the latest developments, successful case studies and emerging industry trends are presented and discussed.
Exhibitors represent a broad range of sectors, including water treatment, environmental technology, desalination, pumps and valves, automation, instrumentation and control, chemicals, renewable energy, plant engineering, infrastructure development, and engineering and consultancy services. The exhibition is primarily aimed at decision-makers from water utilities, municipal service providers, industrial companies, energy suppliers, EPC contractors, government agencies, research institutions, environmental organisations, investors and project developers.
With the Cairo International Convention Center as its venue, the exhibition benefits from a modern setting in the heart of the Egyptian capital. The venue offers excellent infrastructure, state-of-the-art exhibition halls and convenient access to both Cairo International Airport and the city centre. Thanks to its strategic location and outstanding accessibility, the CICC provides the ideal setting for one of the leading trade events for water and energy technologies in the Middle East and Africa.
The Aqua Energy Expo Middle East and Africa will take place on 3 days from Monday, 14. September to Wednesday, 16. September 2026 in Cairo.
