Art3f Mulhouse

Art3f is an international contemporary art fair that has been bringing fresh momentum to the art scene since its inception in 2011. The name "Art3f" stands for Foire d’Art Contemporain International and reflects the three pillars on which the fair is built: Art (Art), Fair (Foire), and International – a promise of quality, diversity, and openness beyond national borders.

Every autumn, the fair opens its doors at the Parc Expo Mulhouse in Alsace, inviting art enthusiasts, collectors, and curious visitors to experience contemporary art in a unique setting. Organized by the company of the same name, Art3f understands art fairs not just as sales platforms, but as places of connection, inspiration, and emotion. The Mulhouse edition is part of a Europe-wide series of events, with other locations including Paris, Luxembourg, and Zurich.

A defining characteristic of Art3f is its low-threshold access to contemporary art. The focus lies on direct exchange between artists, galleries, and the public – far removed from the elitist atmosphere often associated with the art world. This inclusive approach makes the fair particularly accessible, approachable, and emotionally engaging. Alongside classic disciplines such as painting, sculpture, and photography, new forms of artistic expression are also showcased. Live demonstrations offer visitors a chance to witness the creative process up close.

Numerous established and emerging artists and galleries from the region, France, across Europe, and beyond take part in the fair, using it as a platform to present their work to a broad audience. The emphasis is not solely on the sale of high-priced artworks – the fair aims to make art accessible to new buyer groups. Many pieces are offered at affordable prices, attracting younger collectors and those new to the art market.

A special highlight is the traditional charity auction held on the final day of the fair, where selected works are auctioned in support of local artist associations. This initiative strengthens the connection between the fair and the regional art community, underscoring Art3f’s local roots. In this way, Art3f positions itself not only as an international meeting point, but also as a culturally grounded event in the city of Mulhouse.

Exhibitors mainly come from the fields of fine arts, gallery operations, design, and art handling, as well as related sectors such as framing, art logistics, and art consulting. The core visitor groups include private collectors, gallery owners, interior designers, curators, art investors, and a culturally engaged audience from the Grand Est region, Switzerland, and Germany.

The Parc Expo Mulhouse is ideally located, easily accessible by car via the A36 motorway and by train via the nearby Mulhouse train station. The EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg is also within close reach. The city of Mulhouse – one of the most important industrial and cultural hubs in Alsace – combines an international outlook with strong regional roots. In this sense, it perfectly embodies the spirit of Art3f.
