The Baroque Garden Days in Ludwigsburg are an annual public fair that uniquely combines garden culture, inspiration, and a delightful shopping experience. The event is aimed at garden enthusiasts, families, and anyone who enjoys stylish outdoor living. Organized by Blühendes Barock Gartenschau Ludwigsburg GmbH, the fair takes place in the stunning setting of Ludwigsburg Palace – one of the largest preserved Baroque palaces in Europe, often referred to as the “Versailles of Germany”.
Originating in 1954 as part of the first garden exhibition in Germany, the Baroque Garden Days have since evolved into a vibrant platform showcasing high-quality plants, creative landscaping ideas, and innovative gardening products. The event spans the expansive palace gardens, which cover approximately 30 hectares and offer visitors a journey through various historical garden styles. These grounds are considered among the most significant Baroque garden complexes in Europe.
With its wide range of offerings – from horticulture and garden design to plant diversity, decor, outdoor furniture, artisan crafts, and accessories – the fair appeals to both professional visitors and hobby gardeners. At the heart of the exhibition are ornamental and edible plants such as fruit trees, herbs, roses, perennials, balcony and container plants, as well as rare botanical specimens. The assortment is complemented by practical gardening tools, elegant decorations, and the latest specialist literature.
A defining feature of the Baroque Garden Days is the personalized advice provided by experienced gardeners, regional plant experts, and renowned landscape architects. Visitors also benefit from thoughtful services such as a free "plant cloakroom" and a convenient "plant taxi" to help transport purchases, enhancing the overall experience.
The Ludwigsburg Palace itself, built in the early 18th century under Duke Eberhard Ludwig, boasts over 450 rooms and includes an original court theatre from 1758. It stands as a vibrant testament to Württemberg's history. The fusion of historic architecture, artfully designed gardens, and contemporary gardening culture gives the Baroque Garden Days their distinctive charm – making them a memorable experience for professionals and amateur gardeners alike.
In this unique setting, exclusive products, expert knowledge, and refined ambiance come together to create a highlight for anyone passionate about aesthetic, nature-inspired, and sustainable living.
The Barocke Gartentage will take place on 4 days from Thursday, 01. May to Sunday, 04. May 2025 in Ludwigsburg.
