The Careers Information Fair (BIM) in Offenburg is a public exhibition held annually. Since its launch in 2001, it has become one of the most important and diverse platforms for career orientation in southern Germany. Organized by Messe Offenburg-Ortenau GmbH, the event aims to promote sustainable development in the region's economy, education, and culture. Thanks to its central location in southwestern Germany—right off the A5 motorway and near Strasbourg Airport—the Offenburg Exhibition Center, also known as Oberrheinhalle, offers excellent transport connections and ideal conditions for both national and international visitors.
BIM focuses clearly on education, study, professional training, career entry, and career planning. It places great emphasis not only on providing theoretical information but also on practical relevance and interactivity. Numerous companies, universities, educational institutions, and advisory services from a wide range of industries present a comprehensive spectrum of current opportunities. These range from traditional apprenticeships in skilled trades to dual study programs in technology or business, as well as retraining for career returnees and specialized continuing education programs in the digital sector. The fair highlights forward-looking topics such as technology, digitalization, artificial intelligence, sustainable professions, and international educational paths.
One of the fair’s standout features is its extensive advisory and support services. These include professional career and academic counseling, application training, and one-on-one coaching—tailored even to specific groups such as women undergoing career changes or individuals with health-related limitations. BIM is committed to supporting individual life paths and offering concrete career prospects, regardless of age, gender, or previous background.
Another strong point is the close integration of theory and practice. In addition to expert talks and workshops, the fair offers interactive hands-on experiences that allow visitors to explore different professions firsthand. Attendees can test tools, try out digital applications, or engage directly with trainers, students, and professionals. This direct contact not only facilitates career orientation but also fosters connections between businesses and young talent in the region.
With its broad thematic range, strong regional roots, and open access for all interested parties, the Offenburg Careers Information Fair has established itself as a key event for career development. It plays a vital role in securing skilled professionals and enhancing the appeal of the Ortenau region. Whether you're looking to explore educational pathways, discover new career opportunities, or expand your professional network, BIM offers an inspiring and practical platform to do so.
The Berufsinfomesse (BIM) will take place on 2 days from Friday, 09. May to Saturday, 10. May 2025 in Offenburg.
