CHINASHOP – China Retail Trade Fair is one of Asia’s leading trade exhibitions for the retail industry and serves as a key B2B platform covering the entire value chain of the modern retail sector. The event is held annually, rotating between major Chinese cities.
CHINASHOP is organised by the China Chain Store & Franchise Association (CCFA), which represents the interests of China’s retail and franchise sectors. With more than 1,400 member companies spanning retail, franchising, the supply industry and related sectors, the association has an extensive industry network. Against this backdrop, CHINASHOP has developed into an important platform for business development, procurement, knowledge exchange and the presentation of new retail concepts and solutions.
The exhibition focuses on retail technology and digitalisation, artificial intelligence and smart retail, IoT solutions, shopfitting and store design, visual merchandising, commercial refrigeration and cold-chain technology, foodservice and fresh food processing equipment, supply chain and logistics, as well as innovative consumer goods and retail brands. Exhibits include POS and checkout systems, self-checkout solutions, retail software, AI applications, smart shopping trolleys, robotics, camera systems, digital signage, shelving systems, retail furniture, displays, lighting systems, refrigerated display cabinets and freezing equipment. The exhibition also features commercial kitchen and food processing equipment, alongside warehousing, order-picking and logistics systems. Further solutions cover payment systems, security, data analytics, omnichannel retail, e-commerce and automated store concepts, as well as food, beverages, fresh produce and other consumer goods. CHINASHOP therefore encompasses virtually all the technological, infrastructural and product-related areas relevant to the planning, fit-out, digitalisation and operation of modern retail environments.
Exhibitors primarily represent retail technology, IT and software, shopfitting, refrigeration and air-conditioning technology, food processing technology, foodservice equipment, logistics and intralogistics, lighting, security technology and payment systems, as well as the food and consumer goods industries. CHINASHOP is open exclusively to trade visitors. Its audience includes decision-makers, buyers and senior professionals from supermarkets, hypermarkets, convenience stores, department stores, shopping centres, specialist retail chains and other retail formats. Distributors, wholesalers, importers, commercial agents, property developers and technology companies are also among the key visitor groups. For businesses seeking to enter the Chinese retail market, establish new distribution partnerships or modernise existing store and logistics infrastructure, the exhibition provides a central platform for procurement, business development and networking.
A distinctive feature of CHINASHOP is its combination of a traditional product exhibition with innovation zones, industry conferences, workshops and competitions. Formats such as Hi-shop showcase forward-looking store concepts, while Retail X-LAB provides a dedicated platform for innovative technologies and emerging retail solutions. The programme is complemented by specialist events covering topics such as artificial intelligence, consumer goods, supermarket development, refrigeration technology, supply chain management and new business models. The CHINASHOP GOLDEN WINGS Competition also recognises innovative, practical solutions from across the retail industry.
CHINASHOP is therefore much more than an exhibition for shopfitting and retail equipment. As an annual industry gathering, it brings together technology, procurement, store development, logistics and consumer goods with the latest developments and emerging trends shaping the future of Chinese retail. The host city and exhibition venue vary from one edition to the next, with major Chinese commercial and economic centres offering well-developed exhibition and transport infrastructure typically selected as host locations. Venues are generally easily accessible via international or domestic airports, high-speed railway stations and urban metro and public transport networks. At the same time, attending CHINASHOP gives trade visitors first-hand insight into one of the world’s most dynamic retail markets.
The CHINASHOP will take place on 3 days from Wednesday, 14. April to Friday, 16. April 2027 in Zhengzhou.
