Creative Market Großenhain

The Großenhain Creative Market is an established arts, crafts and handmade goods fair that has been held annually at the Remontehalle in Großenhain since 2013. The event is organised by Projektzentrum Dresden, which runs creative markets at various locations, bringing together independent makers, designers and craftspeople with visitors interested in arts and crafts.

The fair focuses on handmade goods, arts and crafts, DIY, design and creative pursuits. Small-scale producers, emerging labels, independent designers, craftspeople and private exhibitors from the local area and across Germany showcase their original work. The wide-ranging selection includes handcrafted jewellery, accessories and unique clothing, as well as knitted, crocheted and sewn items, ceramics, woodcraft, floristry, home accessories, stationery, illustrations, candles, soaps, fragrances and natural products. Visitors can also discover distinctive items such as handmade soft toys, felt laptop sleeves, embroidered phone cases, hand-painted furniture and speciality foods presented in jars.

However, the Creative Market is more than simply a retail fair, with a strong emphasis on hands-on creativity and trying out new techniques. Visitors can choose from an extensive range of craft supplies, including yarn, fabrics, knitting needles, crochet hooks, ribbons, decorative trims, buttons, paper and beads. The programme is complemented by live demonstrations, hands-on activities and mini-workshops for adults and children. Depending on the event programme, visitors may have the opportunity to create watercolour bookmarks, paint plates, make jewellery or try various folding and decorative techniques. Craft demonstrations also provide an insight into different working methods and production techniques. In this way, the fair combines shopping with creative inspiration and practical, hands-on experiences.

The event is aimed at families, amateur artists, DIY and craft enthusiasts, as well as visitors interested in design, regional products and distinctive gift ideas. It particularly appeals to those looking for handcrafted, one-of-a-kind pieces as an alternative to mass-produced goods. For makers and other creative professionals, the market also provides an opportunity to discover new materials, techniques and design ideas while exchanging knowledge and ideas with producers and fellow creatives.

The Remontehalle provides the Creative Market with a distinctive venue offering ample space for stalls, craft supplies, demonstrations and hands-on activities. Located in Großenhain in the district of Meissen, the venue is easily accessible to visitors from the surrounding region as well as from further afield in Saxony. Overall, the Großenhain Creative Market has established itself as an annual meeting place for anyone keen to discover handmade products, find creative inspiration, explore new materials and techniques, and get involved in creative activities themselves.

The Creative Market take place annually, and therefore presumably in October 2027 in Großenhain.
