CrossCon Tulln an der Donau

CrossCon is a new Austrian consumer event that brings together a wide range of modern pop culture interests under one roof. Rather than focusing on a single fandom, its concept spans gaming, cosplay, anime, manga, comics, fantasy, trading card games, tabletop gaming and creative communities. The event is held annually at the Messe Tulln exhibition centre and is organised by Messe Wieselburg GmbH, a company specialising in the organisation and delivery of trade fairs and events.

CrossCon is centred around experiencing pop culture first-hand. Visitors can discover the latest video games, indie titles and retro gaming, play and trade cards from trading card games such as Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh! and Disney Lorcana, or try their hand at tabletop, board and pen-and-paper role-playing games. The programme ranges from family-friendly board games and challenging strategy games to open sessions of Dungeons & Dragons and The Dark Eye, as well as Warhammer miniature painting. Dedicated areas for anime, manga, comics, fantasy, LARP and cosplay broaden the programme further, making CrossCon a meeting place for a diverse range of fandoms and hobby communities.

The exhibitor offering is equally diverse. Retailers sell manga and comics, figures, trading cards, gaming merchandise, cosplay accessories and a variety of collectables. In the Artist Alley, artists and comic illustrators showcase fan art, prints, stickers, illustrations and handmade products. Gaming studios, clubs, fan groups, cosplayers and community projects also present their activities and invite visitors to get involved. Exhibitors therefore represent a broad cross-section of the gaming and entertainment industries, the comics and manga sector, the merchandise and collectables market, and the creative, artistic, cosplay, tabletop and wider fan community.

CrossCon is designed as an interactive experience rather than a conventional retail exhibition. The programme features cosplay, performance and dance competitions, community challenges, live shows, creative workshops, hands-on activities, photo opportunities, tournaments and community matches. In the trading card game areas, the emphasis extends beyond competition to playing together, trading cards and personal interaction between players and collectors. The event is aimed at gamers, cosplayers, anime, manga, comics and fantasy fans, trading card collectors, tabletop gamers and role-playing enthusiasts, as well as artists, creatives and members of the various communities represented.

Located in Tulln an der Donau, CrossCon has strong ties to Lower Austria and the wider Austrian pop culture scene. The organisers aim to bring together clubs, fan groups, artists, retailers and communities, encourage interaction and collaboration, and help strengthen Austria’s pop culture community over the long term.

CrossCon takes place at Messe Tulln, Messegelände 1, 3430 Tulln an der Donau. The established exhibition centre provides a suitable setting for combining exhibition space, community areas, stage programming and interactive experiences. CrossCon therefore brings together elements of an exhibition, festival and convention to create a shared pop culture experience centred on discovery, gaming, collecting and creativity, with particular emphasis on personal interaction between fans, artists, clubs, communities and exhibitors.

The CrossCon will take place on 3 days from Friday, 16. October to Sunday, 18. October 2026 in Tulln an der Donau.
