The Capital of Cambodia Phnom Penh with a population of 2 million people has a size of 376 skm. The Diamond Island City (100 ha) is located directly at the river Bassac in the centre of Phnom Penh. In 2006 the Khmer Canadian OCIC (Cambodia Oversea Investment Company) signed an agreement on development and administration of the island with the Cambodian Government. Diamond Island City will have cultural and tourist attractions as well as shopping malls, five-star hotels, an exhibition centre, villas, flats, schools, offices, hospitals, and a 333 m high tower with a panoramic view over Phnom Penh. A wide range of different trade fairs are available.
