Dresdner Ostern is a long-established consumer and spring fair held annually in the run-up to Easter in Dresden, the capital of Saxony. The event takes place at the modern exhibition grounds operated by Messe Dresden GmbH. With spacious halls, light-filled exhibition areas and robust infrastructure, the venue provides ideal conditions for tens of thousands of visitors.
The fair brings together gardening, home and interiors, arts and crafts, food and drink, and health and wellbeing in a single seasonal showcase. Its centrepiece and international flagship is the concurrent International Orchid World, one of Europe’s leading orchid exhibitions. Thousands of flowering plants, elaborately curated special displays and striking floral installations transform the halls into an immersive horticultural experience. For growers and enthusiasts alike, rare specimens, new hybrids and expert advice offer added value well beyond that of a traditional sales exhibition.
Beyond this highlight, Dresdner Ostern spans a broad range of themes: from garden and landscape design, plants, seeds, garden technology and outdoor furniture to home accessories, spring decorations and both traditional and contemporary crafts. Glass, wood and ceramic works, handmade jewellery and Easter décor showcase the creative diversity of regional and national makers. The programme is complemented by products and services in wellness, fitness, beauty, healthy nutrition and alternative therapies. The dedicated “Schlemmerhof” food court rounds off the experience with culinary specialities and regional produce.
Exhibitors primarily represent horticulture, floristry, landscape design, crafts, home and lifestyle, as well as the food and health sectors. The visitor profile is equally diverse: gardening enthusiasts, amateur growers, homeowners, families, art lovers and health-conscious consumers attend for inspiration, shopping and professional exchange. For many regional businesses, the fair is an important economic driver and a platform to showcase their innovation.
The event reflects Saxony’s strong horticultural heritage, the region’s vibrant craft traditions and Dresden’s close ties to the arts and cultural scene. Competitions and curated special displays within the Orchid World regularly set quality benchmarks and also attract trade professionals.
Held each spring, Dresdner Ostern symbolically ushers in the new season in Dresden. The exhibition centre is conveniently located close to the city centre, easily accessible by public transport and offers ample parking. By combining thematic diversity with professional infrastructure, the fair makes the arrival of spring in Dresden a tangible and recurring highlight.
The Dresdner Ostern will take place on 4 days from Thursday, 26. March to Sunday, 29. March 2026 in Dresden.
