Lausanne can be described as one of the most beautiful cities of Switzerland. It is picturesquely located at the north shore of Lake Geneva, not far from the French border. Lausanne is located on three hills, therefore walking across the city means going uphill and taking steep stairs. Walking seems to be the headword for Lausanne because cars are strictly forbidden in the old town. A ramble through the shopping area on Rue du Bourg is absolutely worthwhile, just as the visit of Church St. Francois which belongs to a former Franciscan monastery. Altogether 125,000 people live in this lovely city. The Beaulieu conference centre offers 50.000 m2 of exhibition space, including a conference centre and a theatre. 30 lecture halls, seminar rooms and further rooms for 15 to 5,000 people are available. The parking deck offers space for a total of 580 cars and is right next to the centre. Culinary delicacies are guaranteed in the 10 restaurants of the conference centre. The airport of Lausanne is just a few minutes away from the fairground. The motorway 9 (E62), close to the Beaulieu buildings, connects Lausanne to the Alps and to other motorways like the A1 towards Geneva. Public transport is well-developed and connects the exhibition centre with the inner city.
