The capital of the region Rhône-Alpes Lyon is situated in Eastern France and is the third-largest city of the country. About 480,000 people live on an area of 48 sq m, whereupon the agglomeration Lyon at the crossing of Southern and Northern Europe can be described as the second-largest economic region of France. The Eurexpo Lyon was founded in 1984 and includes about 40 exhibitions and 50 top-class events yearly, among trade fairs like Sirha, Pollutec, Solutrans or big events like Foire Internationale de Lyon or Salon de l`Automobile. The exhibition area implying 110,000 sq m disperses at ground level on 12 halls with different height. These are arranged fan-like around the dome in order to enable a roofed tour to the visitors. The conference centre comprises five modular meeting rooms for 50 to 500 persons, 3,000 sq m exhibition area plus panorama restaurant. The fairground lays halfway between the city centre of Lyon and airport Saint-Exupéry and is reachable in a comfortable way with all transportation means. Altogether, 13.000 parking places are available for visitors and exhibitors.
