The Catalan city of Valencia in eastern Spain faces the Mediterranean Sea and is the third largest city in the country. About 810,000 people live in an area of about 135 sq km. The economic and touristic site with a major container seaport also hosts a Ford factory. The Feria Valencia hosts fairs since 1917 - today, there are more than 40 major events per year. With an exhibition area of 231,000 sqm in eight halls, various conference and meeting rooms and 68,000 sqm park surfaces, the Feria Valencia is the largest and one of the most modern trade fair centres in Spain and among the global top ten. In 2010, more than 1.3 million visitors from around the world attended the numerous events. The Feria Valencia is located only five km northwest of Valencia, five minutes from the Manises International Airport. There are regular bus, tram and metro connections to the city.
