FaRK Schiffweiler

The "FaRK", a fantasy and role-playing convention renowned far beyond the borders of Saarland, revolves around Sci-Fi, Steampunk, Cosplay, Fantasy, and Post-Apocalyptic themes. Visitors can immerse themselves in unique fantasy and dream worlds across various theme parks, engaging in dress-up activities. Spanning over 100,000 sqm, it creates a unique realm for enthusiasts of Sci-Fi (including all things related to science fiction like Star Wars, Star Trek), Cosplay (video game characters), and Fantasy. Since its inception in 2013, the event now attracts visitors not just from Germany, but from all over Europe.

Organized by Kiehn Adventure Projects, the "FaRK" is an exceptional event held in Landweiler-Reden, offering a diverse and unique experience. With an extensive program ranging from a two-day street food festival outdoors to a post-apocalyptic sculpture park, the fair caters to all tastes.

Attendees can look forward to an impressive Steampunk exhibition, delving into a world of retro-futurism and inventiveness. The showcars provide a fascinating glimpse into extraordinary vehicles, while lectures, concerts, dance shows, and workshops offer intellectual and cultural enrichment. The fair is also a haven for literature enthusiasts, featuring readings and an indoor fantasy library that captivates fans of fantasy and science fiction.

For those keen on active participation, the fair provides numerous interactive activities like climbing walls and archery. The Public Cosplay contest is a highlight for costume enthusiasts, while the indoor nerd flea market and vendor's alley invite browsing and discovery. This fantasy and role-playing convention takes place at the Erlebnisort Reden in Landweiler-Reden, part of the Schiffweiler community. Erlebnisort Reden, comprising the water garden and the mining dump, is a site of a former coal mine operational until 1997. Today, the area, with its protected buildings, water garden, and dump, is used for events and recreational activities. About 1,000 parking spaces are available on-site, accessible via Bildstockstraße in Schiffweiler 66578. Thus, FaRK is an event that combines culture, entertainment, education, and fun in a unique format, offering unforgettable experiences to its visitors.
