Fieldays, officially known as the New Zealand National Agricultural Fieldays, is the largest agricultural event in the Southern Hemisphere and a key gathering for anyone interested in innovation, sustainability, and forward-looking technologies in the agri-sector. Established in 1968 by John Kneebone with the goal of advancing New Zealand agriculture, the event has grown into one of the most important platforms for sharing knowledge, technology, and business solutions within the industry.
Held annually at the Mystery Creek Events Centre near Hamilton, the event spans approximately 114 hectares, offering a venue perfectly suited for large-scale exhibitions. Its modern infrastructure provides both exhibitors and visitors with a rich, diverse experience.
Fieldays is organized by the New Zealand National Fieldays Society, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting agriculture through technology, innovation, and education. The event welcomes both industry professionals and the general public, including families, with entry granted by ticket only.
The exhibition highlights the latest advancements in agricultural technology—ranging from smart machinery and precision farming to automation and artificial intelligence. It also addresses critical topics such as sustainable land use, climate-resilient farming methods, efficient water management, and soil health. Adjacent fields such as forestry, food production, export strategies, agricultural finance, and international cooperation are also well represented.
A particular highlight is the Innovation Hub, where groundbreaking technologies are showcased and recognized through the prestigious Fieldays Innovation Awards. The Careers & Education Hub offers practical insights into training opportunities, career paths, and job prospects in rural industries. Forestry, too, has its dedicated space within the Forestry Hub, presenting specialized themes and developments.
Among the event's main attractions are hands-on demonstrations and competitions, most notably the popular Tractor Pull, which tests machinery, horsepower, and driver skill. The experience is rounded out by a wide selection of food offerings, featuring both local specialties and international cuisine.
Fieldays is not only a major platform for agricultural innovation and economic exchange but also a family-friendly event that combines education, entertainment, and networking at a high level.
The Fieldays will take place on 4 days from Wednesday, 10. June to Saturday, 13. June 2026 in Hamilton.
