Forstmesse Lucerne

Founded in 1971, the Forstmesse in Lucerne is considered the most important industry event for the forestry and timber sector in Switzerland and across Europe. Known as the “International Forestry Fair Lucerne” – or simply “Forstmesse” – it brings together leading professionals, companies, and innovators from the fields of forestry, wood, and forest technology every two years at the modern Lucerne Exhibition Centre. The event is organized by ZT Fachmessen AG, an independent, family-run company in its third generation. With more than 150,000 visitors annually across eight proprietary trade fairs, the company is one of Switzerland’s largest private exhibition organizers and has established an extensive network.

The Forstmesse stands for practical innovation and living tradition. It showcases the latest developments in machinery, equipment, and software for timber harvesting and forest logistics – from advanced chainsaws to all-terrain high-tech transporters. The focus is on efficiency, safety, ergonomics, and sustainability. Visitors can look forward to exclusive highlights, including the presentation of the new industry solution SylvaTOP by WaldSchweiz, informative expert lectures on the protection of forests in the context of climate change, and hands-on competitions such as the daily Forwarder Taster Contest and the Log Splitting Championship as sporting highlights. The program is further enriched by the presentation of the children’s book “Globi and the Forest” and a themed area dedicated to occupational safety and first aid in the forest.

Exhibitors represent all areas of the forestry and timber industry, from technology manufacturers and software providers to industry associations and service companies. The main audience consists of professional forest managers, forestry contractors, equipment manufacturers, and decision-makers from both public and private forest enterprises. Young professionals and those interested in learning more about careers and training opportunities in the forestry sector are also addressed.
