Sharjah - Schardscha in the national language - is one of seven emirates of the United Arab Emirates and is considered the most conservative. The city is located on the Persian Gulf. Until 1950, it was the largest emirate; however, in comparison the oil volume was low. Sharjah has almost 1 million residents spread over on an area of 2,590 sqkm. The International airport is about 13 km away. Transportation facilities are considered good. The center was built to create a perfect setting for fairs and exhibitions, and the appropriate atmosphere for the city. It has become the main center for trade fairs and exhibitions in the Middle East. 128,000 sqm are available, with an air conditioning system. The building is located by the lagoon Sharjah de Al Khalid.
