InnoTrans in Berlin is a leading international trade fair for transportation technology held biennially in September. Since its inception in 1996 by Messe Berlin GmbH, it has established itself as a central hub for innovations in transportation technology. Over four days, industry professionals and exhibitors from around the world gather at the expansive Messe Berlin site to network and showcase the latest technologies in both the indoor halls and the outdoor exhibition areas.

The main themes of InnoTrans include rail vehicle technology, with a focus on innovative vehicles for passenger and freight transport. Exhibits feature multiple-unit trains, locomotives, trams, and specialized construction and dual-mode vehicles. In the area of rail infrastructure, visitors learn about developments in signaling and control technologies, overhead line equipment, and the planning and monitoring of construction services. Public transport technology spans from fare management systems to passenger information systems, traffic management, and data processing. Interior design of vehicles, ranging from lighting to air conditioning, as well as tunnel construction, including tunnel boring machines and safety technologies, are also key exhibition areas.
