Intersolar Europe is the world’s leading trade fair for the solar industry and one of the most important international meeting points for companies, investors, project developers and renewable energy professionals. Held annually at Messe München and the ICM – International Congress Center Munich, the event attracts exhibitors and visitors from across the globe to the Bavarian capital.
Intersolar Europe is organised by Solar Promotion GmbH, an internationally active trade fair and conference organiser with many years of experience in the renewable energy sector. Since its inception, the event has evolved from a specialised industry exhibition into a globally recognised flagship trade fair and is now regarded as a major driving force behind the energy transition. In addition to the Munich event, Solar Promotion GmbH organises further international editions, including Intersolar North America, Intersolar South America, Intersolar India, Intersolar Middle East and Intersolar China. Together, these events form a global network that connects regional markets and showcases the latest developments in the solar industry worldwide.
The exhibition focuses on the key future-oriented themes shaping the solar sector across the entire value chain. Core areas include photovoltaics, solar thermal technologies and modern solar power plants. Intersolar Europe places particular emphasis on innovative technologies such as agri-photovoltaics, floating PV, building-integrated photovoltaics and intelligent energy management systems. The portfolio is further complemented by solutions for energy storage, monitoring, digitalisation and sustainable energy supply.
International exhibitors showcase advanced products and services ranging from solar cells, PV modules and inverters to mounting systems, cabling technology and software solutions, as well as manufacturing equipment for solar cells and thin-film modules. Companies specialising in automation technology, measurement and control systems, solar park operations, EPC contracting and project development are also represented. In addition, services related to maintenance, cleaning technologies, drone applications and intelligent monitoring systems are becoming increasingly important.
Highlights of the event include high-level conferences, expert forums, live demonstrations and hands-on workshops presenting the latest market trends, industry analyses and technological innovations. Presentations on financing models for large-scale PV projects, European solar markets and innovative concepts for solar parks and sustainable power supply are particularly popular. The exhibition also regularly features pioneering innovations and outstanding industry projects, reinforcing its reputation as a showcase for cutting-edge solar technologies.
Exhibitors primarily come from the fields of photovoltaics, solar thermal energy, energy technology, electrical engineering, software development, plant engineering, project development and industrial manufacturing. Key visitor groups include professionals from industry, skilled trades, energy supply, wholesale, architecture, engineering and research, as well as representatives of investment firms and public institutions. The event is therefore specifically geared towards decision-makers, investors and experts actively involved in transforming the global energy system.
The venue itself also plays a significant role in the success of Intersolar Europe. Messe München and the ICM – International Congress Center Munich provide state-of-the-art infrastructure, extensive exhibition space and ideal conditions for international trade events. Thanks to excellent transport links, the venue is easily accessible by public transport, motorway and Munich Airport alike. The combination of a leading international trade fair, an innovative industry environment and Munich’s strong business location makes Intersolar Europe a key meeting place for the global solar industry.
The Intersolar Europe in Munich took place from Monday, 22. June to Thursday, 25. June 2026.
