The JIHE – Japan International Hemp Expo is Japan’s leading international trade fair for the hemp industry, serving as a central platform for the entire hemp value chain. The event takes place at the prestigious House of OMOTESANDO in Tokyo, a modern venue in the heart of the Japanese capital renowned for hosting exclusive business events, innovation showcases and international industry gatherings.
JIHE is organised by Asabis Inc., a Japanese company specialising in the promotion and development of the hemp and cannabinoid sectors. The exhibition aims to bring together businesses, investors, researchers, policymakers and industry professionals to help shape the future of Japan’s hemp market. The event has gained additional significance following recent reforms to Japan’s cannabis legislation, which have created new commercial and scientific opportunities for the industry.
Covering a broad range of topics, JIHE sets itself apart from conventional CBD and cannabis events. Key areas of focus include CBD and cannabinoid products for health, wellness and consumer markets, as well as industrial hemp as a sustainable raw material for agriculture, manufacturing and industry. The exhibition also highlights innovative hemp-based construction materials, bio-based products, and solutions supporting decarbonisation and the circular economy. Further areas of interest include hemp fibres for the textile and fashion sectors, hemp foods, functional foods, dietary supplements, and advances in biotechnology, cannabinoid research and medical applications.
Trade visitors gain a comprehensive overview of the latest products, services and technologies across the entire hemp value chain. Exhibitors showcase a wide range of offerings, including CBD products, hemp seeds and raw materials, cultivation and processing technologies, sustainable building materials such as hempcrete, textiles, food products, research initiatives, biotechnological innovations, and consultancy services covering regulation, market entry and international trade.
A key feature of the event is the accompanying CannaCon conference, where leading experts discuss developments in both the Japanese and global hemp markets. Topics include legislation and regulation, scientific advances, sustainability, investment opportunities, and the economic implications of the evolving legal framework. The programme is further enhanced by business matchmaking sessions, networking events, VIP lounges and exclusive meetings between producers, investors, traders and other industry stakeholders.
Exhibitors represent a wide range of sectors, including agriculture, food production, construction, textiles and fashion, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, research, trade, sustainability-focused industries, investment and business consultancy. Reflecting this diversity, the visitor profile is equally broad. Key attendee groups include manufacturers, importers, wholesalers, retailers, investors, researchers, architects, construction companies, government representatives, trade associations and decision-makers from industry and politics. They attend the event to explore the latest developments in the hemp sector and establish valuable business connections.
The House of OMOTESANDO also benefits from a prime location in Tokyo’s popular Omotesando district and excellent transport links. The venue is easily accessible via the nearby Omotesando and Meiji-jingumae subway stations, as well as Tokyo’s extensive public transport network.
The JIHE Japan International Hemp Expo will take place on 2 days from Friday, 13. November to Saturday, 14. November 2026 in Tokyo.
