The Youth Education Fair “JuBi” is Germany’s largest dedicated fair for stays abroad, offering young people a central platform to explore international education and exchange opportunities in depth. The name “JuBi” – short for “JugendBildungsmesse” (Youth Education Fair) – captures the core of the event: education that transcends borders.
The event is organized by “Weltweiser”, an independent, non-profit organization based in Selm-Cappenberg that provides educational consulting services and publishes related materials. Weltweiser aims to guide young people and facilitate access to international educational paths. The JuBi in Essen is part of a nationwide series of fairs held annually in numerous cities, enabling direct exchange between students, parents, teachers, and educational experts.
At the heart of the JuBi are programs that open up international opportunities for pupils, trainees, and university students – including high school exchanges, language travel, summer schools, au pair stays, work and travel programs, volunteer services, internships, and degree courses abroad. The concept of a gap year is also covered in detail. One of the fair’s greatest strengths is the opportunity for personal consultation with experts and former participants, who share their experiences in a practical and authentic manner. This creates an atmosphere that is both informative and approachable.
A key focus of the fair is on scholarship opportunities, particularly the WELTBÜRGER Scholarships, which offer financial support for stays abroad. These scholarships give young people the chance to gain international experience, regardless of their financial background. Exhibitors include agencies, organizations, and educational institutions from across Germany, representing the fields of education, youth work, intercultural exchange, and travel.
The JuBi is aimed primarily at young people and young adults, as well as their parents and teachers, who are seeking well-founded, personalized guidance. Thanks to its clear thematic focus, its emphasis on one-to-one interaction, and its national presence, the JuBi clearly stands out from traditional education fairs. It offers a highly targeted and inspiring environment in which education becomes a gateway to the world.
The JuBi will take place on Saturday, 31. January 2026 in Munich.
