KILIFAIR is an international tourism trade fair that has established itself as a key industry gathering in East Africa since its inception in 2015 by KILIFAIR Promotion Co. Ltd. The name “KILIFAIR” creatively combines Tanzania’s iconic Mount Kilimanjaro with the English word “fair”, symbolizing the fusion of regional identity and global tourism expertise.
Each year, the Magereza Grounds in Arusha—a vibrant city at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro—transform into a hub for tourism professionals, travel providers, and service operators from across East and Central Africa. Its proximity to world-renowned natural wonders like the Serengeti and the Ngorongoro Crater provides an authentic and captivating backdrop. Often referred to as Tanzania’s unofficial "tourism capital," Arusha offers not only logistical advantages but also thematic relevance for the event.
KILIFAIR stands out for its strong focus on current challenges and developments within the tourism industry. Key topics include sustainable travel, digitalization, destination management, and modern marketing strategies. The fair brings together providers from a wide range of sectors—such as safari companies, hotels, lodges, airlines, transport businesses, technology service providers, as well as cultural and artisanal stakeholders. Targeted FAM trips and networking events actively foster exchange between local businesses and international tour operators.
A distinctive feature of KILIFAIR is its hands-on seminars and workshops, where professionals from around the world share knowledge and offer fresh insights to drive the industry forward. The program is further enriched by cultural performances and culinary offerings, providing visitors with a vibrant glimpse into Tanzania’s diversity and hospitality.
Exhibitors primarily come from the tourism, transport, technology, and cultural sectors. The professional audience includes tour operators, tourism experts, investors, media representatives, and key decision-makers.
All in all, KILIFAIR is a specialized and multifaceted platform that showcases the economic potential of East Africa’s tourism sector while highlighting its cultural richness and innovative spirit. The Magereza Grounds in Arusha are easily accessible via Kilimanjaro International Airport and a well-developed road network—making it the ideal location for anyone looking to actively shape the future of tourism.
The KILIFAIR takes place annually, and therefore for the 10th time previsibly in June 2026 in Arusha.
