Karriere Open Air Schwaz

The Career Open Airis Tyrol’s largest regional outdoor career fair.
Since its inception in 2016, it has taken place in the heart of Schwaz’s historic old town – specifically at Maximilianplatz. The abbreviation KOA not only stands for the event’s official name but also symbolizes its core values: Career, Orientation, and Exchange – reflecting the open and direct dialogue between people and perspectives.

Every two years in June, the central square transforms into a vibrant meeting point for career seekers, companies, and educational institutions.

The event is organized by Stadtmarketing und Saalmanagement Schwaz GmbH, in close cooperation with the Public Employment Service (AMS) Schwaz and the Chamber of Commerce (WKO) Schwaz. The aim is to offer young people, job seekers, and those interested in further education a low-threshold, hands-on, and personal introduction to the world of work – outdoors, free of charge, and in a family-friendly atmosphere.

At the heart of the event are career guidance, further education, and practical insights into various professional fields. At interactive stations, visitors can try out typical job-related tasks themselves and engage directly with trainers, professionals, and company representatives. Numerous businesses from the trades, industry, healthcare, tourism, IT, and the public sector not only present training and job opportunities but often conduct initial job interviews on-site.

A special highlight is the video competition “The World of Work Tomorrow”. Students present creative visions of their future careers, with the best entries receiving attractive prizes. For children, there’s a professionally supervised play and discovery program, while regional food vendors and food trucks offer a wide range of culinary delights to complete the fair experience.

Combining an information event, career fair, and family festival, KOA provides an inspiring platform that both informs and excites – practical, engaging, and cross-generational.

With its historic backdrop and central location, Maximilianplatz provides the perfect setting for the event. The fair is easily accessible – whether by car, with ample parking available around the town center, or by public transport. The Career Open Air blends regional strength, modern career orientation, and vibrant city culture into a fair format that is truly one of a kind in Tyrol.
