The Kleine Gartenschau Oschatz is an annual public event held in the O-Schatz-Park in Oschatz, Saxony. It brings together exhibition elements, a garden fair and an interactive visitor experience in a distinctive format. Unlike a traditional trade fair, it is deliberately conceived as an open event, welcoming garden enthusiasts, families, school groups and industry professionals alike.
Each year, the O-Schatz-Park is transformed into an inspiring garden landscape. The event is organised by ARCOS GmbH, an experienced event management company known for professional delivery, strong thematic staging and close collaboration with regional stakeholders. As such, the show is more than a sales platform: it is a carefully curated overall concept that combines information, inspiration and hands-on experience.
Gardens and plants in all their diversity take centre stage. Visitors gain practical ideas for indoor and outdoor planting schemes, contemporary garden design, the selection of perennials and woody plants, and sustainable maintenance strategies. Sustainability is a core principle throughout – from resource-efficient planning and eco-friendly materials to environmental education in the “Green Classroom”, a dedicated programme designed for schools and nurseries. A particular highlight is the major floral exhibition in the “das O” flower hall, where regional florists present their creations and demonstrate horticultural artistry at competition level. The programme is complemented by specialist lectures and workshops in which experts share knowledge on plant science, soil improvement, biodiversity and urban gardening.
Exhibitors represent a broad spectrum of sectors, including horticulture, tree nurseries, floristry, landscape architecture, garden technology, sustainable products, skilled trades and regional craft manufacturers. On display are plants, seeds, garden furniture, tools, decorative items, irrigation systems, natural products and a wide range of services covering garden planning, maintenance and design. Both dedicated amateur gardeners and professional landscaping businesses benefit from concrete purchasing opportunities and valuable new business contacts.
Most visitors come from Saxony and neighbouring federal states. They include private garden owners, families, associations, educational institutions and professionals from the horticultural and landscaping sectors. The fair also serves as a platform for regional initiatives and clubs to present their projects. A supporting stage programme featuring choral performances, falconry displays and classic car rallies adds further appeal.
The venue itself – the spacious O-Schatz-Park in Oschatz – offers generous green areas, the striking “das O” flower hall and well-developed infrastructure, providing ideal conditions for a combined outdoor and indoor event. Conveniently located between Leipzig and Dresden, Oschatz is easily accessible via the B 6 federal road and by rail, making the garden show an attractive day out for visitors from across Saxony.
The Kleine Gartenschau will take place on 4 days from Thursday, 25. June to Sunday, 28. June 2026 in Oschatz.
