Laser World of Photonics Munich

The Laser World of Photonics is the world's leading trade fair for optical technologies and has been the most important international meeting point for the photonics industry since its inception in 1973. Held every two years, the event is open exclusively to trade visitors and takes place at Messe München—one of Europe's most modern exhibition centers, known for its excellent infrastructure, central location, and outstanding transport connections. The event is organized by Messe München GmbH, one of Germany’s most prestigious trade fair organizers, renowned for hosting top-tier international technology exhibitions for decades.

This trade fair uniquely bridges the gap between scientific research and industrial application. It is where cutting-edge research meets market-ready innovation—a convergence highly valued by experts from industry, academia, and research. Running in parallel with the trade fair is the World of Photonics Congress, the largest European scientific congress of its kind, which deepens interdisciplinary dialogue and elevates the event to a globally unique platform.

The exhibition offers a comprehensive overview of all key areas of photonics, from laser technologies and optoelectronic components to industrial laser systems for cutting, welding, and additive manufacturing. It also covers imaging techniques, sensor systems, and optical metrology. Other core topics include optics manufacturing, medical technology, optical information and communication technologies, security solutions, energy-efficient lighting, as well as the rapidly growing fields of integrated photonics and quantum technology.

On the whole the organisers welcomed on the 4 days of the fair, from 27. June to 30. June 2023, about 1300 exhibitors and 40000 visitors on the Laser World of Photonics in Munich.
