Also known as the "Luzerner Gewerbeausstellung", LUGA is a consumer fair that covers a variety of industries and product areas. It takes place in the exhibition halls, the tent halls, the outdoor area, and the Lunapark in Lucerne. LUGA is held annually, usually from the end of April to the beginning of May, and was founded in 1978. The organizer of the LUGA trade fair is LUGA Messe Luzern AG, an experienced company specializing in the organization of trade fairs and events. The main sectors of the fair include agriculture, commerce, crafts, tourism, education, and gastronomy. Visitors can discover a wide variety of products and services, from regional specialties to innovative technologies and craftsmanship. The highlights of LUGA include numerous product presentations, the "special shows" on current topics, the opportunity to make business contacts and learn about new trends, as well as a varied supporting program with events and entertainment for the whole family.
