The fair was established in 2023 and is organized by Messe Düsseldorf Asia Pte. Ltd. It takes place annually at the Jakarta International Expo (JI Expo). The name "METEC" stands for Metallurgy Technology Conference and highlights the fair's significance as a platform for technological advancement in metallurgy.
