MOTOR TECH JAPAN is Japan’s leading trade fair for motor technologies and is widely recognised as the country’s only dedicated technology platform bringing together every aspect of modern motor systems under one roof. The event’s name reflects its core focus: “MOTOR” refers to motors as the essential driving components behind countless industrial applications, while “TECH” highlights the technological innovations and developments that continue to advance the sector. The exhibition is held annually during the summer at Tokyo Big Sight, Japan’s largest and most prestigious exhibition and convention centre, located in the capital city of Tokyo.
The event is organised by the Japan Management Association (JMA), one of the country’s most influential business and industrial organisations. For decades, the JMA has been committed to promoting technological innovation, efficient management practices and the international competitiveness of Japanese industry. MOTOR TECH JAPAN forms an integral part of TECHNO-FRONTIER, a comprehensive technology exhibition that brings together a range of specialised events covering advanced drive systems, electronics, automation and manufacturing technologies.
The exhibition focuses on technologies spanning the entire value chain of modern motor systems. Exhibits include small motors, precision motors and industrial motors, motor drivers and control systems, sensors, magnetic materials, components and raw materials, as well as measurement, analysis and testing equipment. The portfolio is further complemented by production machinery and simulation solutions for product development and manufacturing. In addition, exhibitors showcase a wide range of services, from engineering support and product development assistance to testing procedures and manufacturing optimisation.
The event holds particular significance for Japan, which ranks among the world’s leading industrial nations in sectors such as mechanical engineering, electronics, automotive technology, robotics and precision manufacturing. Motors are indispensable to virtually every industrial application, from highly sophisticated measuring instruments and robotic systems to large-scale industrial facilities. As a result, MOTOR TECH JAPAN serves as a key platform for exchange and collaboration between manufacturers, developers and users of these essential technologies.
Highlights of the exhibition include product launches, live technology demonstrations, expert presentations by leading industry specialists and extensive networking opportunities. A strong emphasis is placed on the direct transfer of knowledge between research, development and industrial practice.
Exhibitors primarily represent the electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, automotive, robotics, automation, materials science, sensor technology, measurement technology, manufacturing and supply industries. Key visitor groups include development engineers, design engineers, production managers, research and development professionals, procurement specialists and senior decision-makers seeking innovative solutions in drive and motor technology.
Tokyo Big Sight is one of Asia’s most advanced exhibition venues and provides an ideal setting for international trade events. Located in the Ariake district on Tokyo Bay, the venue benefits from excellent public transport connections via the Yurikamome Line and the Rinkai Line. Visitors can easily reach the exhibition centre from central Tokyo, the city’s major railway stations and the international airports of Haneda and Narita. As such, MOTOR TECH JAPAN not only offers a comprehensive overview of the latest developments in motor technology but also provides direct access to one of the world’s foremost centres of industrial innovation.
The MOTOR TECH JAPAN will take place on 3 days from Wednesday, 15. July to Friday, 17. July 2026 in Tokyo.
