MeLa Gülzow-Prüzen

The MeLa, officially known as the "Trade Fair for Agriculture," is the most traditional specialised exhibition in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. It occurs annually in September in Gülzow-Prüzen, specifically at the Mühlengeez trade fair and exhibition centre. This centre is managed by MAZ Messe- und Ausstellungszentrum Mühlengeez GmbH, which is also the organiser of the trade fair and has extensive expertise in trade fair organisation. The MeLa Trade Fair addresses a broad array of subjects crucial to the region: agriculture, nutrition, hunting, fisheries, forestry, and horticulture. These primary themes reflect the region's diversity and potential, from the yellow-flowering rapeseed fields and lush green meadows to the expansive pastures with dairy cows and sheep. Exhibitors display a wide range of products and services, from plant and animal production to animal breeding and ecological agriculture-related topics. The food sector showcases meats and baked goods, fruits and vegetables, fish, game, beverages, and sweets from the region. The hunting section features hunting attire and equipment, as well as information on the sustainable use and regulation of wildlife populations. The fisheries section offers fishing equipment and accessories, while the forestry section provides information on environmental services, firewood, forest resting places, education, and information for forest visitors. The horticulture area displays fruits, vegetables, specialty crops, woody plants, garden technology and tools, garden houses, and garden accessories. Highlights of the fair include animal shows, technical expertise, and animal presentations. These events provide a sophisticated blend of technology, presentations, and breeding excellence unique to northern Germany. Associations and organisations are also present to answer questions and inform about their work. Exhibitors represent various industries, including agriculture, nutrition, hunting, fishing, forestry, and horticulture.
