Minexpo Africa Nairobi

Minexpo Africa is the leading trade fair for mining and processing technologies in East Africa. It is held annually at the Kenyatta International Conference Center (KICC) in the heart of Nairobi. Since its inception in 2014 by the internationally active Expo Group UAE, the event has established itself as a key platform for technological innovation, economic cooperation, and investment in the African mining industry.

Each year, Nairobi becomes a hub for professionals from across the mining sector, both regional and international. The exhibition covers the full lifecycle of a mining project – from geological exploration and extraction technologies to safety systems, automation, environmental solutions, financing, and project management.

The choice of Nairobi as the host city is no coincidence: Kenya is rich in mineral resources that are, in many cases, still underdeveloped. These include gold, iron ore, copper, fluorspar, soda ash, and gemstones. Minexpo Africa plays a crucial role in unlocking this potential sustainably while fostering both domestic and international investment. The event targets mining companies, government agencies, investors, and technology and equipment providers.

Exhibits range from drilling and extraction equipment to crushers, dump trucks, and industrial valve systems, alongside digital solutions for mine planning and safety. The exhibition also features services in consulting, research and development, and project financing. Exhibitors represent sectors such as mechanical and plant engineering, electrical engineering, environmental and safety technology, and software development. Visitors primarily include professionals from the mining industry, manufacturing, engineering, and public sector institutions.

A hallmark of Minexpo Africa is its interdisciplinary approach, connecting technology suppliers with service providers and decision-makers. The trade fair is part of a broader event portfolio by the Expo Group UAE, which also organizes similar exhibitions in other high-growth African markets such as Tanzania and Ethiopia.
