The 'Mining and Metals Central Asia', formerly known as 'MiningWorld Central Asia', is considered a leading international trade fair in the field of mining and processing of metals and minerals. Mining is a significant economic sector for Kazakhstan as it is one of the largest employers in the country and contributes substantially to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP). Moreover, it is an important source of foreign direct investments and exports. Kazakhstan is among the world's leading producers of various minerals and metals, including uranium, chromium, zinc, copper, gold, and silver. Furthermore, Kazakhstan has large deposits of coal, oil, and natural gas. The extraction of these energy sources is crucial for the country's energy supply and plays a vital role in supplying other countries. The mining sector has also contributed to the development of the country's infrastructure, including roads, railways, and energy supply facilities. Since its establishment in 1958, the 'Mining and Metals Central Asia' has served as a central information forum for professionals from the mining and metal industry, manufacturers of mining machinery and equipment, their suppliers, and representatives of the mining industry from Central Asia. The fair is hosted by 'Iteca Almaty' at the 'Atakent International Exhibition Centre' in Almaty, Kazakhstan. The exhibition attracts a large number of foreign companies that enhance their presence through special country pavilions. This enables exhibitors to present new products, meet potential customers, initiate business partnerships, and inform themselves about the latest technologies and developments in the industry. The 'Mining and Metals Central Asia' not only serves as a platform for the exchange of knowledge and experience but also as a catalyst for the development of business relationships and the promotion of investments in the region's mining and metal industry. Participation in this event offers a unique opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the challenges and opportunities of the industry in Central Asia and to establish important contacts that are crucial for business success in this dynamic region.
On the whole the organisers welcomed on the 3 days of the fair, from 20. September to 22. September 2022, about 261 exhibitors and 5781 visitors on the Mining and Metals Central Asia in Almaty.
The Mining and Metals Central Asia will take place on 3 days from Tuesday, 17. September to Thursday, 19. September 2024 in Almaty.
