Mining and Metals Central Asia, formerly known as MiningWorld Central Asia, is the leading international trade fair for mining and processing of metals and minerals. Mining is an important economic sector for Kazakhstan, as it is one of the largest employers in the country and contributes significantly to the gross domestic product (GDP). It is also an important source of foreign direct investment and exports. Kazakhstan is one of the world's leading producers of various minerals and metals, including uranium, chromium, zinc, copper, gold and silver. In addition, Kazakhstan has large reserves of coal, oil and natural gas. The extraction of these energy sources is crucial for the country's energy supply and plays an important role in supplying other countries. The mining sector has also contributed to the development of the country's infrastructure, including roads, railways and power supply facilities.
Since its establishment in 1958, Mining and Metals Central Asia has served as a central information forum for mining and metals industry professionals, manufacturers of mining machinery and equipment, their suppliers and representatives of the mining industry from Central Asia.
The exhibition is hosted at the Atakent International Exhibition Centre in Almaty, Kazakhstan, by Iteca Almaty. The exhibition attracts a large number of foreign companies, which enhance their presence through special country pavilions. This allows exhibitors to showcase new products, meet potential customers, initiate business partnerships and learn about the latest technologies and developments in the industry. Mining and Metals Central Asia serves not only as a platform for the exchange of knowledge and experience, but also as a catalyst for developing business relationships and promoting investments in the region's mining and metals industry.
Participating in this event offers a unique opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the industry challenges and opportunities in Central Asia and to make important contacts that are crucial for business success in this dynamic region.
On the whole the organisers welcomed on the 3 days of the fair, from 20. September to 22. September 2022, about 261 exhibitors and 5781 visitors on the Mining and Metals Central Asia in Almaty.
This year the Mining and Metals Central Asia takes place on 3 days from Wed., 17.09.2025 to Fri., 19.09.2025 in Almaty already for the 30th time.
