PARTS DESIGN TECH JAPAN is a highly specialised trade exhibition dedicated to design technologies, engineering, and manufacturing solutions for industrial production. Serving as a key platform for innovative design and development methodologies, it brings together expertise in product design, materials technology, and manufacturing engineering. The event aims to help companies streamline and optimise the entire process from initial product concept through to full-scale production.
The exhibition is held annually at Tokyo Big Sight, Japan’s largest and most renowned exhibition and convention centre, located in the heart of Tokyo. It is organised by the Japan Management Association (JMA), one of the country’s leading industrial and business organisations. For decades, the JMA has played an important role in promoting technological innovation, enhancing the competitiveness of Japanese industry, and fostering international industrial collaboration.
At the core of PARTS DESIGN TECH JAPAN are advanced design and development technologies for precision and functional components. Exhibits showcase solutions for the design of complex geometries, materials selection, computer-aided engineering (CAE) analysis, prototyping processes, and structural optimisation techniques, including topology optimisation and innovative folded-structure designs. The exhibition also highlights modular design concepts, production launch support services, and digital tools for managing and utilising engineering data. Another key focus is additive manufacturing and industrial 3D printing, which are opening up new possibilities for the development of lighter, higher-performing, and more cost-effective components.
Exhibitors present a comprehensive range of products and services, from engineering and design consultancy to advanced materials, software solutions, simulation tools, manufacturing technologies, and cloud-based design asset management platforms. As a result, visitors gain practical insights into key product development challenges, including the technical feasibility of specifications, component optimisation, and the efficient transition from prototype to mass production.
The exhibition reflects Japan’s position as one of the world’s leading centres for precision manufacturing, mechanical engineering, and high-tech production. It showcases the innovation and technical expertise of the Japanese manufacturing sector while also serving as an international platform for collaboration between industry, research institutions, and development partners from around the world. As part of TECHNO-FRONTIER, one of Japan’s most important technology exhibitions, PARTS DESIGN TECH JAPAN benefits from a multidisciplinary environment and strong international visibility.
Key highlights include presentations of the latest design and manufacturing technologies, live demonstrations of innovative solutions, and a comprehensive programme of technical seminars and expert-led presentations addressing current trends and challenges in product development.
Exhibitors primarily represent the automotive, aerospace, machinery and plant engineering, electronics, materials engineering, plastics processing, metalworking, software, and engineering sectors. The exhibition attracts design engineers, product developers, industrial designers, manufacturing planners, production managers, and decision-makers from research and development who are seeking innovative solutions to enhance products and optimise manufacturing processes.
With its state-of-the-art infrastructure, Tokyo Big Sight provides an ideal venue for international trade events. The exhibition centre is located in the Ariake district on the man-made island of Odaiba in Tokyo Bay and benefits from excellent transport connections. Visitors can easily reach the venue via the Yurikamome Line, the Rinkai Line, and Tokyo’s international airports, Haneda and Narita. Combining a world-class exhibition venue, outstanding accessibility, and the innovative spirit of Japan’s capital city, PARTS DESIGN TECH JAPAN has established itself as one of Asia’s leading meeting places for design and manufacturing technologies.
The PARTS DESIGN TECH JAPAN will take place on 3 days from Wednesday, 15. July to Friday, 17. July 2026 in Tokyo.
