PAX East Boston

PAX East is one of the most important gaming conventions in North America and has been held annually in Boston, Massachusetts, since its inception in 2004. Organized by RX USA, the event has evolved from a small community gathering into one of the largest and most dynamic public expos in the gaming industry.

Each year, the convention attracts tens of thousands of gaming enthusiasts to the modern Boston Convention and Exhibition Center, located in the vibrant Seaport District. With its spacious design and state-of-the-art facilities, the venue provides the perfect setting for what defines PAX East: a unique blend of interactivity, innovation, and community spirit. Open to the public, the convention welcomes developers, publishers, content creators, journalists, esports professionals, families, and, of course, passionate gamers of all ages.

A standout feature of PAX East is its rich variety and thematic depth. Attendees can experience a wide range of formats—from presentations by major development studios and indie showcases to cultural events, live concerts, and tournaments. Alongside well-known AAA publishers, up-and-coming indie studios present their work, especially within the curated PAX Rising Showcase, a hotspot for discovering the gaming stars of tomorrow.

Inclusivity and diversity are at the heart of PAX East. The PAX Together program gives underrepresented voices in the gaming community a platform, encouraging meaningful interaction in an open and respectful environment. At the same time, the PAX Arena hosts thrilling esports competitions where professionals compete for recognition and prizes. Another highlight is the Omegathon, a multi-day tournament in which randomly selected participants face off in a series of games, culminating in a grand finale on the last day of the event.

Beyond digital gaming, there’s plenty more to explore. The extensive tabletop area—with its massive game library, dedicated hall, and relaxed play zones—is a paradise for fans of analog games. Since 2024, the Cozy Gaming Lounge has offered a calm retreat featuring comfortable gaming stations for more relaxed play experiences. In 2025, the Family Gaming Zone will be introduced, a new area focused on family-friendly content and hundreds of kid-appropriate games designed specifically for children and families.

The experience is rounded out with exhilarating live concerts, musical performances inspired by video game culture, and a vibrant community atmosphere featuring cosplay events, meetups, and social hubs.
