RETRO CLASSICS BAVARIA® is an annual trade and public exhibition dedicated to classic mobility, held since its debut in 2016 at the Nuremberg Exhibition Centre. As part of the renowned RETRO CLASSICS® series – with additional events in cities like Stuttgart and Cologne – the BAVARIA edition has established itself as a distinctive highlight within the southern German classic car scene.
Organised by Retro Messen GmbH, the event offers a unique platform that combines passion and professionalism, bringing together classic car enthusiasts, collectors, restorers, dealers, and clubs from across Europe. Inside the modern halls of Messe Nürnberg, visitors are treated to a rich and immersive showcase of automotive cultural history – spanning elegant pre-war models, iconic youngtimers, and historic motorcycles, buses, commercial vehicles, and tractors.
What sets RETRO CLASSICS BAVARIA® apart is its thematic breadth and content depth. Visitors experience the world of classic motoring up close – not only through exceptional vehicles on display, but also through interactive features such as the special exhibit “Living Workshop”, where restoration techniques are demonstrated live by experts. The offering is further enhanced by a hands-on technology arena for vehicle diagnostics, a comprehensive parts and accessories market, and a dedicated sales area for classic vehicles. Renowned auction houses also regularly attend, bringing rare classics under the hammer – a much-anticipated highlight for many visitors.
A defining feature of the event is its successful blend of tradition and innovation. While clubs and associations bring entire eras of automotive history to life, special exhibitions spotlight current themes – from brand anniversaries and tributes to legendary designers like Marcello Gandini to motorsport topics such as “40 Years of DTM”. At the same time, the show appeals to younger audiences through content focused on youngtimers, e-karts, and hands-on activities aimed at fostering the next generation – creating an intergenerational experience that makes classic mobility accessible and engaging for all age groups.
Exhibitors mainly represent sectors such as vehicle manufacturing, trade, restoration, technology, spare parts, publishing, and the cultural and club scene. On the visitor side, the event attracts a diverse mix of professionals, families, classic car lovers, and investors. The special appeal lies in the unique combination of expert knowledge and an authentic enthusiast culture – a setting where professionals and hobbyists connect as equals.
Thanks to its central location, the Nuremberg Exhibition Centre provides the perfect infrastructure for an event of this scale. Easily accessible by car, train, or plane, it offers state-of-the-art facilities and a high level of comfort for both exhibitors and visitors. Set in the historically rich Franconia region – itself home to a vibrant classic car community – RETRO CLASSICS BAVARIA® marks the atmospheric finale to Germany’s classic car season each year.
Whether as a meeting point for the community, a marketplace for automotive heritage, or a stage for timeless engineering – RETRO CLASSICS BAVARIA® is more than just a trade fair: it is a unique experience for anyone with a professional or personal interest in classic mobility, and a vivid reflection of a culture that goes far beyond nostalgia.
The ninth RETRO CLASSICS BAVARIA® takes place on 3 days from Fri., 07.11.2025 to Sun., 09.11.2025 in Nuremberg.
