SHIELDAFRICA is an international security and defense exhibition that takes place at the Ecole nationale de Police in Abidjan, Ivory Coast. It was founded by COGES in 2013 and has been held every two years in odd-numbered years since then. The fair is primarily aimed at decision-makers from public and private institutions, presenting the latest developments in the fields of security, national defense, and disaster protection. Highlights include life-sized presentations of equipment, demonstrations, conferences, and workshops. SHIELDAFRICA is distinguished by the presence of high-ranking visitors, including important media representatives, defense ministers, interior ministers, and military authorities, ensuring a high reputation for the event that extends far beyond the borders of Africa. The main objective of the fair is to increase the general level of security as a prerequisite for economic growth in African countries. The fair also provides an excellent platform for communication and business contacts with real industry experts at a high level. In line with this objective, SHIELDAFRICA is of enormous importance to the region and contributes to improving security awareness and security standards throughout Africa.
On the whole the organisers welcomed on the 3 days of the fair, from 08. June to 10. June 2021, about 95 exhibitors from 21 countries and 2800 visitors from 31 countries on the SHIELDAFRICA in Abidjan.
The SHIELDAFRICA takes place biennially, and therefore for the 7th time previsibly in June 2025 in Abidjan.
