SHOWTECH – The World of Entertainment Technology is an internationally renowned trade fair for theatre and event technology. Since its inception in 1991, it has taken place every two years and is exclusively aimed at industry professionals. As a leading professional event, it offers a unique platform for intensive exchange between global companies and experts from the fields of culture, media, and technology. The venue is the ARENA Berlin – a historic industrial hall in the heart of the capital, whose industrial charm and modern infrastructure provide ideal conditions for innovative presentations and effective networking.

SHOWTECH blends technological innovation with creative excellence, placing a strong emphasis on key issues such as sustainable theatre architecture, energy-efficient stage operations, and digital event technologies. Digital transformation plays a particularly pivotal role: virtual reality, augmented reality, and intelligent automation are not only reshaping behind-the-scenes workflows but also redefining the theatre experience itself. These developments are accompanied by current discussions on occupational safety, ergonomic workplaces, and Europe-wide educational standards in theatre technology.

One of SHOWTECH’s distinctive features is the clear separation between the trade fair and the conference. SHOWTECH is organized by DTHG Service GmbH, a subsidiary of the German Theatre Technical Society, which has been committed for decades to knowledge transfer, quality, and innovation in theatre technology.
