Since its establishment in 1999, ScieCon in Bochum has evolved into a prestigious annual career fair in the field of Life Sciences, held every October. The event is organized by the btS - Life Sciences Student Initiative e.V. With an impressive membership of over 1,300, including students and doctoral candidates, it represents the largest student association in the Life Sciences field in Germany. With dedication and on a voluntary basis, they work at 23 locations to build a bridge between students, universities, research institutes, and the industry.
At the RuhrCongress Bochum, a modern and spacious event location distinguished by its advanced architecture and multifunctional spaces, ScieCon offers visitors a unique platform. Here, interested parties can directly connect with companies from fields like Biology, Pharmacy, Medicine, Biotechnology, and Biochemistry. The spectrum of companies present ranges from innovative startups and medium-sized businesses to internationally operating corporations.
However, ScieCon is more than just a networking event. A diverse supporting program sets it apart from other fairs. Attendees have the opportunity to gain deep insights into companies through presentations, get professional application photos taken, experience individual career mentoring, and attend engaging panel discussions on career topics in Life Sciences. A special highlight is the live job interview, giving an exclusive insight into the dynamics of a real job interview.
With their continuous commitment to connecting students and young professionals from the Life Sciences field with the industry, ScieCon remains true to its motto: "Let Life Sciences meet you." For those studying in Life Sciences or nearing graduation and seeking professional guidance, ScieCon in Bochum is an essential event.
The ScieCon in Bochum took place on Thursday, 26. October 2023.
