Death is not a taboo. The Vienna Seelenfrieden fair strives to approach the sensitive topic and give space to visitors who seek an opportunity to get the topic of death out of its dark hidden corner and give it some space in the public awareness. Keeping in mind that each and everyone of us is affected by death in one way or another, the fair intends to reduce the fear and to offer space for reflection without strain. In order to create a stronger public focus and discussion on topics such as end of life, passing away, death and mourning, the fair premiered in 2018. It aims to motivate visitors to open their hearts for the topic of passing away in their individual way and pace. The two key areas are preparation for passing away and mourning and grief work – both are dealt with by makers and through presentations and reading sessions within the supporting programme. Visitors are invited to gather information and contact possibilities in order to be able to talk to competent contact persons and find reliable services around the topic should the need arise.
The Seelenfrieden in Vienna took place from Sat., 07.03.2020 to Sun., 08.03.2020 for the 2nd time.
