TECHNO-FRONTIER is one of Japan’s leading trade fairs for electronic, mechatronic and industrial technologies. As a highly specialised business platform, it brings together developers, engineers, product managers, procurement professionals and decision-makers seeking insights into the latest advances in drive technology, automation, electronics and industrial innovation.
The exhibition is held annually during the summer at Tokyo Big Sight, Japan’s largest and most renowned exhibition and convention centre. It is organised by the Japan Management Association (JMA), one of the country’s most respected business and management organisations. For decades, the JMA has been dedicated to promoting technological innovation, supporting professional development and strengthening the competitiveness of Japanese and international companies.
TECHNO-FRONTIER focuses on the technologies shaping the future of modern industrial and electronic systems. Key areas include motor technology, electrical control and automation systems, motion engineering, power electronics, power supply technologies, electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and thermal management for electronic systems. In particular, the MOTOR TECH JAPAN and THERMAL ENGINEERING JAPAN sectors enjoy an excellent international reputation and attract industry experts from around the world.
Exhibitors showcase a wide range of products and services, including advanced electric motors, sensor solutions, magnetic materials, motor control systems, embedded systems, motion control platforms, robotics solutions, industrial automation systems, smart factory applications, and state-of-the-art testing and measurement technologies. The exhibition also features power supplies, battery technologies, inverters, converters, capacitors, uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems and energy-efficient power electronics. Particular emphasis is placed on advanced semiconductor technologies based on silicon carbide (SiC) and gallium nitride (GaN), both regarded as key enabling technologies for the next generation of energy-efficient electronics. The offering is further complemented by EMC solutions, simulation software, shielding and filtering technologies, as well as innovative cooling and thermal management systems for high-performance electronic applications.
Among the highlights of the event are numerous specialist forums, expert conferences and technical seminars where leading companies and research institutions present the latest developments, market trends and emerging technologies. Particular attention is given to practical innovations in electric mobility, smart manufacturing, robotics, power electronics and sustainable energy technologies. Thanks to the strong focus and depth of its individual technology sectors, TECHNO-FRONTIER has established itself as one of Asia’s most important information and networking platforms for engineering and technology professionals. Presentations of new products and proven technological solutions provide additional value for visitors.
Exhibitors primarily represent the automotive industry, electronics and semiconductor sectors, mechanical and plant engineering, robotics, and the energy and automation industries. Companies and institutions specialising in measurement technology, materials development and industrial research are also well represented. The visitor profile is dominated by engineers, designers, product developers, production managers, technology managers, procurement professionals and R&D specialists seeking new technologies, components and business partnerships.
With Tokyo Big Sight as its venue, the exhibition benefits from a world-class setting. Located on the artificial island of Odaiba, the iconic exhibition centre is one of Tokyo’s most recognisable landmarks and provides outstanding facilities for international trade events. The venue is easily accessible via the Yurikamome Line, various rail connections and numerous bus services. A wide range of hotels, restaurants, shopping facilities and leisure attractions can be found nearby, ensuring ideal conditions for a productive and enjoyable visit to one of the world’s most innovative metropolitan centres.
The TECHNO-FRONTIER will take place on 3 days from Wednesday, 15. July to Friday, 17. July 2026 in Tokyo.
