TECONOMY Linz

TECONOMY in Linz is one of Austria’s leading university careers fairs, dedicated to helping students make a successful transition into professional life. Held annually on the campus of Johannes Kepler University Linz, the event turns the university into a central meeting point for students, graduates and employers for one day.

The fair is organised by IAESTE Austria, an internationally connected student organisation that not only runs a global internship exchange programme but also actively supports students as they enter the world of work. This is precisely where TECONOMY comes in: it offers students and graduates from JKU Linz and Upper Austria’s universities of applied sciences a free, accessible opportunity to connect directly with national and international employers and gain concrete insights into internships, graduate and trainee programmes, permanent entry-level roles and paid thesis projects.

TECONOMY focuses on career orientation, career planning and personal networking. Companies from sectors including industry, IT, engineering, consulting, finance, law, energy, natural sciences and technology present current vacancies while also providing insights into their workplace culture, career paths and ongoing projects. The exhibition programme is complemented by structured formats such as speed meetings for short introductory conversations, a start-up corner highlighting entrepreneurship in Upper Austria, TEC Talks featuring company presentations and Q&A sessions, and a job wall with up-to-date vacancies. Additional services such as CV reviews, professional application photos and one-to-one advice make the fair particularly practical and immediately useful.

Closely linked to the city of Linz and the business hub of Upper Austria, TECONOMY has also established itself well beyond the region as a fixture in Austria’s careers-fair calendar. It forms part of a broader series of events held in Vienna, Graz and Leoben, giving students across the country access to comparable career platforms.

The venue in the north of Linz offers modern infrastructure, short distances between exhibition stands and excellent accessibility by public transport and car.
