The TIBCO trade fair, whose name stands for “Târgul Internațional de Bunuri de Larg Consum” and translates as “International Consumer Goods Fair”, is one of Romania’s leading consumer exhibitions. It is also regarded as a key platform for consumer, lifestyle and retail products in South-East Europe. Since its inaugural event in 1974, this long-established fair has brought together manufacturers, retailers, service providers and consumers in the Romanian capital, Bucharest. Over the decades, it has become an important showcase for market trends, innovation and international business networking opportunities.
The event takes place at the modern Romexpo Exhibition Centre in Bucharest, one of the largest and best-known exhibition venues in South-East Europe. Thanks to its central location and excellent transport links, the venue offers ideal conditions for both international exhibitors and visitors. TIBCO is organised by the experienced exhibition company Romexpo S.A., one of Romania’s leading organisers of trade fairs and public exhibitions, responsible for numerous national and international industry events.
Exhibits include fashion, clothing, footwear, cosmetics, perfumes, home décor and interior accessories, furniture, gift items, jewellery, handicrafts, food and beverages, natural products, as well as consumer electronics and household appliances. The offering is further complemented by leisure, sports and tourism products, items for children and pets, and contemporary lifestyle, hobby and design products. In recent years, the fair has increasingly focused on sustainable and organic products, locally handmade goods, and vintage and collectors’ items. One particularly popular feature is the integration of the so-called “Antique Market”, which attracts additional visitors from the worlds of art, antiques and collecting.
Exhibitors represent a wide variety of sectors within the consumer goods industry. Participants include companies from the fashion and cosmetics sectors, food manufacturers, suppliers of furniture and home accessories, electronics companies, tourism businesses, as well as producers of sustainable and regional products. This creates a diverse presentation platform where international brands appear alongside local manufacturers and innovative start-ups. The exhibition is aimed both at trade visitors from retail, distribution, import, wholesale and the service sector, and at consumers interested in discovering new products, trends and shopping opportunities. For businesses, TIBCO provides an excellent opportunity for brand promotion, customer acquisition and business development within the growing South-East European market.
Among the fair’s highlights are themed special exhibition areas, product demonstrations, trend presentations and seasonal lifestyle showcases, all of which contribute to a varied and engaging visitor experience. In addition, many companies use the event to launch new products and collections and to present innovative concepts in the field of sustainable consumer goods.
Ultimately, TIBCO stands out not only for its international orientation and wide-ranging product offering, but also for its attractive venue. The Romexpo Exhibition Centre is located in the northern part of Bucharest, close to major transport routes, Henri Coandă International Airport, and numerous hotels, restaurants and business centres. Visitors can easily reach the exhibition grounds by public transport, car or taxi, while ample parking facilities and the venue’s modern infrastructure ensure a comfortable visit. At the same time, Bucharest itself, with its blend of historic architecture, vibrant cultural scene and contemporary urban lifestyle, offers ideal conditions for combining a trade fair visit with both business and leisure activities.
The TIBCO takes place annually, and therefore for the 37th time previsibly in June 2027 in Bucharest.
