TravelMart LatinAmerica (TMLA) is an annual trade show that has become one of the most important business platforms in the international tourism industry since its inception in 1978—focused exclusively on Central and South America. It was launched in Lima, Peru, by the U.S.-based organizer William H. Coleman, Inc., a company specializing in B2B travel events. Since then, TMLA has taken place every September in rotating locations across Latin America. This rotation is a central part of its concept: each host destination becomes not only a venue for business meetings but also a showcase for the country’s unique offerings.
TMLA is a strictly business-oriented event, designed exclusively for business-to-business (B2B) networking. It strategically brings together buyers from around the world—such as tour operators, wholesalers, and tourism professionals—with suppliers from across Latin America. Exhibitors represent every sector of the industry: hotels, airlines, tourism boards, and specialized tour operators.
A key feature of the event is its highly efficient, pre-scheduled meeting system. Through a digital platform, participants arrange appointments weeks in advance of the event, allowing for structured, targeted, and time-saving interactions on site. This makes TMLA one of the most effective forums for building and maintaining international business relationships in tourism.
The event offers a comprehensive overview of the Latin American travel landscape. The spotlight is on presenting the continent as a diverse travel destination—geographically, culturally, and thematically. From the high Andes to Caribbean beaches, from major cities like Buenos Aires or Lima to remote eco-lodges in the Amazon, TMLA covers all segments of the industry: cultural, nature, and adventure tourism, as well as luxury travel, culinary experiences, wellness retreats, and beach holidays. Niche markets such as MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, Exhibitions) and specialized active and experiential travel are also well represented.
A growing focus is on sustainable and responsible tourism. The event provides a platform for eco-tourism providers as well as for community-based tourism projects that actively involve and economically empower local communities. Sustainable practices, biodiversity protection, plastic-free travel, and respectful engagement with Indigenous cultures are fully integrated into the program.
TMLA also serves as a knowledge-sharing platform. An accompanying conference program features international experts who offer in-depth insights into current industry topics through keynotes, panels, and workshops—covering issues such as digitalization, evolving travel behavior, climate change, and innovative sales strategies.
Each host destination is carefully selected based on international accessibility, available infrastructure, and tourism potential. Whether coastal city or Andean metropolis, the venue must ensure both smooth logistics and authentic regional experiences.
TravelMart LatinAmerica is more than a traditional tourism fair: it is a professional marketplace, a driver of innovation, an engine for sustainable development, and a bridge between Latin America and the world. It offers access to new products and services, along with a direct and immersive experience of the destination—practical for business partners, unique in its structure, and precisely tailored to the needs of the global tourism industry.
The Travelmart Latinamerica takes place annually, and therefore for the 48th time previsibly in September 2026 in Lima.
