With deep gratitude and a touch of nostalgia, Lower Franconia bids farewell to the Unterfrankenschau (UFRA), a beloved regional fair that, since its founding in 1975, has captivated young and old alike every two years in the heart of Schweinfurt. UFRA, which celebrated its grand finale with its 23rd edition in the year 2000, was far more than just a trade fair — it was a vibrant reflection of the region’s diversity, creativity, and community spirit.
For decades, UFRA provided a dynamic platform for local manufacturers and service providers to showcase their latest products, innovative technologies, and inspiring services. From clothing to electronics, building materials to personal care items, the fair consistently offered a wide range of exhibits and up-to-date insights into current trends.
Visitors not only experienced the richness of the regional economy but also enjoyed international delicacies and hearty local specialties in the bustling food areas. This diverse offering was complemented by cultural highlights, including traditional dance performances, storytelling sessions, musical acts, engaging lectures, and product demonstrations.
Many fondly remember the cheerful children, curious families, and enthusiastic visitors who explored the fascinating world of UFRA with joy and openness. Its conclusion leaves a noticeable gap in the cultural and social fabric of Lower Franconia.
UFRA will be remembered for 25 years of unforgettable encounters, cultural vibrancy, and its contribution to regional unity. Its spirit lives on in the hearts and memories of the people.
On the whole the organisers welcomed on the 9 days of the fair, from 29. September to 07. October 2018, about 350 exhibitors and 70500 visitors on the UFRA in Schweinfurt.
The UFRA in Schweinfurt took place from Sat., 26.09.2020 to Sun., 04.10.2020 already for the twenty-third time.
