The “Auf in die Welt” fair in Wiesbaden is an annual public event focused on international opportunities for young people. It is aimed at school students, high school graduates, apprentices, university students, and their parents, serving as a specialized platform for information and guidance. The fair is organized by the German Foundation for International Understanding, a non-profit organization dedicated to international education projects, student exchange, and intercultural dialogue across Germany. The foundation brings together leading exchange organizations, independent advisory services, embassies, and consulates at the fair to offer orientation and concrete pathways for going abroad.
The event takes place at the centrally located Obermayr Europa School in Wiesbaden, which is easily accessible by public transport and car. As a modern venue, it provides a suitable setting for this one-day event that combines expert knowledge, personal consultations, and alumni experiences all in one place.
At the heart of the fair is the traditional high school exchange program, complemented by a wide range of other international opportunities: boarding schools and private schools abroad, language trips, work & travel programs, internships, volunteer services, au pair stays, as well as semesters or full-degree programs at international universities. The fair presents options both during school years—such as summer camps or language courses—and after graduation, offering guidance across all educational stages.
A special focus is placed on funding opportunities. Visitors receive detailed information on financial aid such as Auslands-BAföG (German government funding for studying abroad), child benefit regulations, and scholarships. The scholarship forum showcases funding opportunities with a total value exceeding one million euros. In addition, special advisory sessions are available for parents to support well-informed, joint decision-making.
The fair is distinguished by its practical approach: former participants are available for personal conversations, expert talks offer in-depth insights, and discussion sessions provide space for individual questions – all free of charge and open to the public. As part of the nationwide “AUF IN DIE WELT” series, the Wiesbaden fair is one of the key events for discovering international educational paths and personal development.
Held at the Obermayr Europa School, the “Auf in die Welt” fair offers young people reliable guidance for planning their time abroad – whether for language learning, cultural exchange, or personal growth through international experiences.
The Venture Into the World (Auf in die Welt) will take place on Saturday, 20. September 2025 in Wiesbaden.
