The Vertical Farming Africa Expo is a highly specialised trade exhibition accompanied by a conference, dedicated to shaping the future of food production in Africa. As part of the Green Agric West Africa Expo, it represents a clear shift in agricultural thinking: away from land-intensive, resource-dependent practices towards controlled, urban-integrated growing systems capable of year-round production.
The event takes place at the CCI Conference & Exhibition Centre in Ikeja, Lagos—one of Nigeria’s leading hubs for business and innovation. It is organised by AgriQuest Africa Network Ltd., a pan-African organisation specialising in agricultural innovation, knowledge transfer and market development across Africa’s agri-food sector. For many years, the organiser has brought together stakeholders from agriculture, technology, investment and public policy, positioning the expo as a focused business and knowledge platform for the continent.
The Vertical Farming Africa Expo centres on vertical farming, indoor farming and controlled environment agriculture (CEA), alongside advanced cultivation methods such as hydroponics, aeroponics and aquaponics. The programme is complemented by digital agri-technologies, ranging from sensors, automation and IoT solutions to data-driven smart farming. Other key themes include energy efficiency, circular economy approaches, climate protection and the reduction of food loss. A strong emphasis is placed on commercial viability, with investment models, scaling strategies and market-ready business concepts for urban and peri-urban farming projects in Africa taking centre stage.
The exhibition showcases a wide range of products and services, including vertical and indoor farming systems, LED lighting solutions, nutrient delivery and irrigation technologies, automation and software platforms, seeds tailored for CEA systems, aquaculture and aquaponics solutions, as well as consulting, financing and project development services. Lagos has been chosen deliberately as the host city: as a rapidly growing metropolis with high food demand, limited land availability and significant innovation potential, it provides an ideal setting for the practical discussion and demonstration of urban agriculture solutions.
Highlights of the event include high-level conference sessions, practice-oriented expert panels, targeted networking formats for investors and start-ups, and the opportunity to experience new technologies in live operation.
Exhibitors represent sectors such as agri-technology, vertical and indoor farming, energy and climate engineering, water and irrigation systems, IT and digitalisation, logistics, research, as well as finance and advisory services. Accordingly, the expo is aimed at professionals from agriculture and agribusiness, technology and solution providers, investors, start-ups, policymakers, urban planners, NGOs and research institutions.
The CCI Conference & Exhibition Centre in Ikeja offers modern facilities, convenient access to Murtala Muhammed International Airport and a central location within Lagos. It provides an ideal setting for national and international trade visitors and a fitting venue for an event rethinking the future of agricultural production in Africa.
The Vertical Farming Africa Expo will take place on 2 days from Wednesday, 25. February to Thursday, 26. February 2026 in Ikeja.
